As one size doesn’t fit all and customers want more relevancy, the need for a personalized approach in marketing is becoming more critical than ever. Although delivering the right content to the right audience at the right time is tricky, it will add a big value to your content marketing strategy because it plays a major role in boosting your users engagement rates.
The University of California Los Angeles offers a Marketing Certificate with concentration in Social Media and Web Analytics. The program is specifically designed to either supplement current professionals in the field, or enhance the education of current students’ education. In the program director’s words, “this program provides an excellent opportunity to proactively supplement your experience or expand your appeal and stature as you prepare for the [digital marketing] marketplace.” With seven required standard courses and 4 electives chosen out of 12 options, students have the opportunity to custom tailor their learning experience to specialize in accordance with career goals.
Accepted students can begin the 39-credit program at one of six start dates during the year. Terms last eight weeks, and students take three credits per term. The program's 18 core courses include macroeconomic analysis and public policy, emerging trends in global markets, and operations and supply chain management. Digital marketing students take six specialization courses, including omni-channel retailing, digital customer experience management, and integrated digital advertising planning across multiscreen, hyper-targeted media.

It’s clear that the people (but not the companies) of the world are getting serious about privacy, and marketers – who rely on those people – have no choice but to play by the new rules or miss out. One of the new rules is that marketers and brands will have to “‘earn' the contact information of their targets” rather than engage in mass marketing. As Forbes points out:
For instance, a visitor landing on a website is contacted via chatbot and asked to request assistance or get more information about the product. If he selects the first option, he will be referred to a representative for help and if he chooses the second option, he will be asked a series of automated questions or redirected to their blog or FAQ page.

If you've ever put an advert in a newspaper, you'll know how difficult it is to estimate how many people actually flipped to that page and paid attention to your ad. Post-roll advertisements were shown to have better brand recognition in relation to the other types, where-as "ad-context congruity/incongruity plays an important role in reinforcing ad memorability". Due to selective attention from viewers, there is the likelihood that the message may not be received. The main advantage of video advertising is that it disrupts the viewing experience of the video and therefore there is a difficulty in attempting to avoid them. How a consumer interacts with online video advertising can come down to three stages: Pre attention, attention, and behavioural decision. These online advertisements give the brand/business options and choices. These consist of length, position, adjacent video content which all directly affect the effectiveness of the produced advertisement time, therefore manipulating these variables will yield different results. Length of the advertisement has shown to affect memorability where-as longer duration resulted in increased brand recognition. This type of advertising, due to its nature of interruption of the viewer, it is likely that the consumer may feel as if their experience is being interrupted or invaded, creating negative perception of the brand. These advertisements are also available to be shared by the viewers, adding to the attractiveness of this platform. Sharing these videos can be equated to the online version of word by mouth marketing, extending number of people reached. Sharing videos creates six different outcomes: these being "pleasure, affection, inclusion, escape, relaxation, and control". As well, videos that have entertainment value are more likely to be shared, yet pleasure is the strongest motivator to pass videos on. Creating a ‘viral’ trend from mass amount of a brands advertisement can maximize the outcome of an online video advert whether it be positive or a negative outcome.

Students in the program take 64 quarter credits, and may transfer in up to 13.5 of those credits. Beginning learners will need to take a self-paced, zero-credit intermediate algebra course. The curriculum divides between two modules. Module one focuses on problem solving, and module two emphasizes application and integration. Module one requires eight courses, including statistics for business, global business, and managerial support systems. Module two consists of just two courses: a capstone and a class about business strategy and policy. Additionally students take four courses in their specialization. Classes are asynchronous, meaning students study when and where is convenient for them without specified or pre-arranged class times.

Show them why they need it and exactly how it will benefit them.
